🥋Week 10 Breakdown!🥋

Welcome to our Weekly Breakdown for Week 10 of the Gracie Barra Fundamentals Curriculum! We are excited to jump into week 10 and give you even more techniques to add to your jiu-jitsu game. Adults classes are filled with submissions throughout the week for self-defense and sport jiu-jitsu! Kids are escaping bear hugs, escaping & controlling in mount position, and getting more practice at the Osoto Gari takedown!

🗣️Word of The Week: Patience

In life, patience is important in may aspects. A common phrase is that good things come to those to wait. In jiu-jitsu we need to use patience so that we learn techniques and control in the right ways. Patience is important to develop our own jiu-jitsu, but more importantly, to help others develop their jiu-jitsu as well. At Gracie Barra Saddle Rock, patience isn’t just a trait but a practice that enhances learning, improves performance, and builds a strong, resilient mindset.

No-Gi GBK, Adults & Teens:

GBK Programs: All of our GBK classes are learning the same techniques this week. This means that the focus for No-Gi will be introducing all the techniques of the week with a No-Gi uniform. As always, this is an important time for them to utilize self-defense techniques with a more realistic approach.

Adults & Teens: For Adults & Teens takedown techniques that involve the Ippon Seoi Nage, or “One Arm Shoulder Throw” will be shown. For sport jiu-jitsu, the focus is around escaping from bottom mount position with a few different variations!
