As we embark on Week 9 of the Gracie Barra Saddle Rock Jiu-Jitsu Fundamentals curriculum, we turn our attention to a principle that is foundational to our practice: Safety. This week, students of all ages will learn techniques designed not only to protect themselves but also to ensure the safety of their training partners. Understanding and practicing safety is essential in Jiu-Jitsu, where respect and care for one another are paramount.

Tiny Champions & Little Champions 1 (Ages 3-6) – Light Blue

For our youngest members in Tiny Champions (ages 3-4) and Little Champions 1 (ages 5-6), safety is introduced through simple and effective self-defense techniques. These sessions are designed to build confidence while ensuring that our little champions learn how to protect themselves in a controlled and safe environment.

The Essence of Safety

Safety is not just a practice on the mats but a mindset that extends into every aspect of life. By prioritizing safety in our training, we ensure that everyone can enjoy the benefits of jiu-jitsu in a secure and supportive environment. This week’s curriculum is designed to reinforce the importance of protecting oneself and others, fostering a culture of respect and care within our community.
