Welcome to Gracie Barra! Our Week 5 Curriculum is packed with exciting techniques and training sessions suitable for all skill levels. Let us explain some of the techniques that each class will focus on.
In our GBK Program, we begin the week by focusing on distance control and mastering body lock techniques. Throughout the week, our students will have the opportunity to develope valuable jiu-jitsu skills, such as the ‘Sit-Up’ Sweep, a one-hand shoulder throw, and effective headlock escapes. Parents are encouraged to bring their sons and daughters to these classes, as they teach essential tools for self-defense and personal safety.
Moving on to our GB1 Fundamentals Classes, we dedicate time to developing distance control skills. Students will then delve into one of the most fundamental and widely used submissions in Jiu-Jitsu—the armbar. Additionally, our instructors introduce a dynamic drill that combines pull feet sweep, mount, and mount escape techniques. These classes establish a strong level of basics for beginners and provide an opportunity for more experienced practitioners to refine their essential skills.
For our All-Levels Class, we have an exciting lineup of techniques. Students will explore transitions to the guard or sacrifice throws and master the art of pulling into spider guard. To conclude the class, our knowledgeable professor will guide students through a spider sweep finishing with a leg drag. The All-Levels classes are a good opportunity for students who are more interested in focusing on the Sport-Side of jiu-jitsu. All are welcome to the All-Levels class regardless of their belt level!
