Welcome to Week 4 of the Gracie Barra Fundamentals Curriculum! This week’s focus is on Foot Throws, Mount, and Knee on Belly techniques. We hope you enjoyed Week 3 as much as we did!
For our Little Champions 1 class (ages 3-5), we will be teaching Distance Management, how to protect their head from punches, and creating a safe distance by pushing away. In Sport Jiu-Jitsu, they will be learning Mount or Knee on Belly, with an emphasis on reaching those positions.
In our Little Champions 2 and Juniors Classes, we will teach how to defend a Round Kick and finish with a Double Leg takedown, as well as a Headlock Takedown. They will also learn how to escape from the Mount Position in Sport Jiu-Jitsu.
For GB1 Fundamentals and All-Levels Classes, we will be focusing on Clinch Holds. Specifically, how to defend against a Double Lapel Grab, finishing with an Outside Hook Takedown. Additionally, we will teach a Self-Defense technique to defend against someone grabbing the throat with two hands, followed by a Body Lock takedown. In Sport Jiu-Jitsu, classes will work on Mount and Knee on Belly Positions and effective escape techniques from these positions.
All classes will consist of drills and specific training that will help you incorporate all the techniques into your jiu-jitsu game. We can’t wait to see you on the mats! Stay safe!
